단독] 최향남 'LA 다저스와 AAA 계약'

최향남의 대리인 업무를 맡고 있는 차윤관 에이전트는 16일 '스포츠서울닷컴'과의 인터뷰에서 "최 선수가 확장 스프링 트레이닝(Extended Spring Training)에서 투구 내용이 훌륭해 계약이 성사됐다. 오늘 합류할 예정"이라고 밝혔다.
차 에이전트에 따르면 조건은 이전 소속 구단 세인트루이스 카디널스와 동일한 마이너리그 트리플 A 계약으로 매월 7500달러(약 947만 원)를 수령한다.
최근 2주 동안 최향남을 면밀히 관찰한 다저스는 준비된 몸 상태와 다양한 구종을 높이 사 전력감이란 평가를 내렸다고. 차 에이전트는 "최향남은 언제든 메이저리그로 승격될 수 있는 선수"란 현지 다저스 스카우트의 호평을 전했다.
현재 다저스는 잊혀진 투수들이었던 제프 위버·에릭 밀튼 등을 불러올릴 만큼 투수진의 깊이에 다소 결함이 있다. 차 에이전트는 "상황에 따라서는 선발 투수도 가능하다"고 말했다. 다저스는 25승 12패로 전체 승률 선두를 달리고 있다.
